Each original Dreams of Nature design starts with a piece of nature that captures our imagination and artistic eye. The way we view nature could be described as similar to finding objects in a puffy cloud filled sky. Sometimes we see resemblance ... perhaps a dahlia petal converts to a hot air balloon ... a long angular shell takes on the shape of a neck tie ...lily stems transform into baby carriage wheels. We challenge ourselves to use nature in unexpected ways to pass on a bit of awe, surprise, and renewed appreciation of the beautiful world surrounding us.
The texture of nature
Sand, sugar, reeds, grasses, spices, husks, pods, leaves, herbs, shells, flowers ...
All of these textures are used in various combinations or appreciated alone so not to take away from their individual beauty. Each of these natural elements offer a layer of dimension and depth to our designs that purvey a sense of place or a moment in time that offers meditative relaxation … a garden path, a bubble bath, an afternoon tea. Handmade paper is the perfect backdrop for displaying our natural ingredients. We use a vast array of different papers to give each design its own distinctive personality. Paper offers endless infusions of natural ingredients and hues of color that continue to amaze and delight us. |
